Octo Health9
Octo Health is a membership for proactive care that helps you test, understand, and take action on your health.
We test 75+ biomarkers with Baseline, from one blood draw, or 110+ with Complete, from one blood draw and a urine sample, once a year, explain each result in plain language, and show you how it moves over time. Your results sit on one timeline with the records you upload, your symptoms and your daily check-ins, so what you feel sits next to what you test.
The result is one place for your whole health story, and personalized guidance that updates as you do.
Most of us only ever see our health in pieces: a blood test here, an appointment there, a PDF somewhere in an inbox. Octo Health puts all of it on one timeline, so a yearly blood test turns into a trend you can follow, and a long-term condition turns into a record you can bring to your next appointment. Year after year, it adds up.
Yes, if you have ever left an appointment with a result in your hand and no idea what to do with it. Octo Health is for anyone who wants their health to add up over time:
- people living with a long-term condition
- people who test every year and want to see the trend
- people who want one place for everything
Memberships are for adults: you must be 18 or over to join.
- Test. 75+ biomarkers with Baseline or 110+ across 11 health categories with Complete, tested once a year, with optimal ranges based on who you are, at 220+ draw locations in Portugal. Where testing is not available yet, upload the biomarkers you already have and get the same interpretation.
- Track. Your whole health story in one place. Tests, records, medications, symptoms and appointments on one timeline.
- Act. Follow your insights and recommendations, improve and retest, so you can actually understand what works for you and against you.
Core is open to anyone, in any country. You can join now.
Baseline and Complete, which include blood testing through Octo Health, are available in Portugal and the United States, with other countries to follow.
Your record works wherever you are, because you are the one who puts everything into it. Blood testing opens country by country, and members hear the dates first.
Your portal only holds what happened at that one hospital, and it stays there. Octo Health brings every hospital, every lab, your symptoms and your medications together on one timeline, shows you how each result moves over time, and keeps all of it when you change doctor, city or country. A portal stores one chapter. Octo Health keeps the whole story.
No. Octo Health is a wellness tool: it organizes your own health data, tracks it over time, and explains what your results measure, so you walk into appointments prepared. It does not diagnose, it does not recommend treatments, and it does not replace your doctor. The recommendations in Core are lifestyle suggestions only, such as habits and routines worth trying.
No. Octo Health is not for urgent or emergency care. If you ever feel unwell, call your doctor or 112. Do not wait for the app.
Coaching that knows your biology, your habits and your goals, and answers from your own record every time. It explains what a marker measures and what your pattern looks like. It never diagnoses and it never replaces your doctor. Ask Octo will be available to Core, Baseline and Complete members soon.
Core, Baseline and Complete7
Core organizes and explains the record you already have. Baseline is Core plus a yearly test of 75+ biomarkers, from one blood draw. Complete is Core plus a yearly test of 110+ biomarkers, from one blood draw and a urine sample.
All three include: unlimited health record storage, your whole history on one timeline, insights and lifestyle recommendations, daily routines and habits, sharing with your doctor, and the Octo Score. Ask Octo is coming soon to all three.
Baseline and Complete add: the yearly test of 75+ biomarkers with Baseline or 110+ with Complete, personalized and advanced insights, and the complete Octo Score, because the panel feeds it.
Everything in your record is yours, whichever membership you are on. See every marker at What we test.
It depends on where you live, and you always see the exact price at checkout, before you pay. In Portugal:
- Core, €8 a month or €69 a year
- Baseline, €199 a year
- Complete, €349 a year
Any member can add a panel: Baseline for €150 or Complete for €300. Panels bought as an add-on are personal to you and can be used while you have an active membership.
Prices are final and include VAT, so the price you see is the price you pay.
Baseline (€199 a year) and Complete (€349 a year) include:
- everything Core does, for your membership year
- one test a year: 75+ biomarkers with Baseline, or 110+ biomarkers with Complete
- your draw at a Germano de Sousa draw location you choose in the app, with nothing to pay there
- with Complete, a urine sample too
- your results in the app in up to 7 working days, with an explanation of what each marker measures
- personalized insights from your test
Prices include VAT, and your membership is sold by Octo Health S.A.
Octo Health is a wellness tool and does not give medical advice. The price does not yet include appointments or a doctor's review of your results. Every result is reviewed by a laboratory technician before it appears on your timeline. If you want to talk about a result, take it to your doctor.
No. Your draw and the tests in your membership are already paid for, so you pay nothing at the Germano de Sousa front desk. At the desk, you show your ID and sign the statement about your data.
An add-on is a panel you buy separately, on top of what your membership includes: Baseline for €150 or Complete for €300. Panels bought as an add-on are personal to you and can be used while you have an active membership.
You can buy an add-on even if you only have Core. If you already have Baseline or Complete, an add-on is how you test again in the same year, for example to see how a marker changed after you changed a habit. You pay for an add-on out of pocket, and it needs no prescription. The draw for an add-on is taken at a Germano de Sousa draw location, with the same booking rules as your membership.
Core is available in any country. Baseline and Complete are available today in Portugal and the United States. Everywhere else, Baseline and Complete are not open yet, and members hear the dates before anyone else.
If you live in a country where Baseline and Complete are not available yet and want to test, you can still join Core and upload the bloodwork you already have. It lands on the same timeline and gets the same insights.
Not yet. Memberships are for adults, 18 and over, one person each. A shared plan is something we are working on.
The panel14
Yes, with Baseline or Complete, in Portugal and the United States. Other countries follow.
Everywhere else, upload the bloodwork you already have. It works the same way, on the same timeline.
No. Upload the bloodwork you already have and it lands on the same timeline, with the same insights. Nothing here requires a blood draw through Octo Health.
No. In Portugal, the draw for Octo Health tests is taken at a Germano de Sousa draw location, which you choose in the app when you book.
- Book in the app. You give your consent in the app and book your tests directly, paying out of pocket, with no prescription. No doctor reviews your panel yet. See "Do I need a prescription or a doctor's order for my tests in Portugal?" below.
- Choose a nearby draw location, pick your date and time, and get your preparation instructions up front.
- Get your results in up to 7 working days. Once a laboratory technician has reviewed and released them, they land on your timeline, shown against ranges based on who you are rather than on averages.
- Improve, retest, and watch your insights update.
No. Octo Health tests do not need a prescription. You choose to take them and you pay for them yourself, out of pocket, through Baseline, Complete or an add-on. You give your consent in the app and book directly at a Germano de Sousa draw location. At the draw location, you also sign a statement about how your data is processed.
No doctor reviews your panel yet. Every result is reviewed by a laboratory technician before it appears on your timeline. If you want to talk about a result, take it to your doctor.
Because there is no prescription, and Octo Health has no agreements with insurers or with the SNS, these tests are not covered. See also these questions below:
- Can I use my health insurance for Octo Health?
- Do the SNS, ADSE or other health subsystems cover Octo Health?
- Can I get an invoice with my tax number (NIF)?
You get your instructions when you book. In short:
- Bring your ID.
- Fast for 12 hours before your draw, with plain water only. Nothing else to drink in that time.
- Avoid alcohol, caffeine and strenuous exercise.
- Pause nonessential supplements for 3 days before.
- Keep taking prescribed medication, unless your doctor has told you otherwise.
- Bring a snack for afterwards.
With Complete, a urine sample is also collected at the same visit.
Up to 7 working days. They appear on your timeline once a laboratory technician has reviewed and released them.
A few tubes of blood, in one draw, plus a urine sample with Complete.
Every result is reviewed by a laboratory technician before it is released to you.
For anything out of range, take it to your own doctor. Octo Health explains what a marker measures, but it does not diagnose. If you ever feel unwell, call your doctor or emergency services. Do not wait for the app.
The laboratory reviews them first. They are then released into your Octo Health record. Octo Health staff are not clinicians, so questions about what a result means go to your own doctor. Inside your account you and anyone you share your record with can read what each marker measures and why it matters.
75+ biomarkers with Baseline, from one blood draw, or 110+ with Complete, from one blood draw and a urine sample, covering 11 health categories, from Metabolic Health and Heart & Vascular to Brain Health and Stress & Energy. Every result comes with an explanation of what it measures and why it matters. See the full panel, marker by marker, at What we test.
No. Your included panel belongs to your membership year and does not roll over to the next one. If it cannot be used for a reason on our side, for example panels are not available where you live, we credit or refund its value.
Because one test only tells you where you are today. Testing every year shows which way your markers are moving, and that is what you and your doctor can actually work with.
Yes. There is no no-show fee, and you can reschedule in the app. Rescheduling is the safer option if you know you cannot make it on time.
Compared with a check-up6
A typical check-up runs a small set of blood tests that your doctor picks for you, based on your age and your risk factors, and reads them against ranges for the general population. Octo Health Complete tests 110+ biomarkers from one blood draw and a urine sample every year and shows each one against both the general range and a range that fits you.
It also keeps every result, from every lab and every doctor, on one timeline you own. A check-up is a snapshot. Octo Health is built to show how your markers move over the years, next to your records, your symptoms and your habits.
It does not replace your check-up. It helps you arrive at it with the whole picture.
Most blood tests hand you a snapshot: a list of numbers on one day, read against averages. Octo Health builds a memory of you, and every new piece of information makes the picture more accurate.
A deeper test from day one. With Complete, one blood draw and a urine sample cover 110+ biomarkers across 11 health categories. That includes the markers that help explain why something is happening, not just whether it is: ApoB, Lp(a), homocysteine, fibrinogen, cortisol, free T3, DHEA-S, magnesium, B12 and folate. Each result is shown against both the general range and an optimal range based on your age, your sex and your history, so a result that is in range for the population can still be worth a conversation for you.
Context: your results are read next to your life, not just a range. A ferritin result means something different if you have been tired for three weeks, started a new medication, or had surgery last year. Octo Health puts your labs next to your records, symptoms, medications, appointments and habits on one timeline.
Memory: it gets sharper every year. Your old results count. Upload labs from any provider and any year, and we line up units and ranges so they trend together. One test shows where you are; years of results show which way you are heading. It stays yours when you change doctor, city or country.
An app for the days between tests. Log symptoms, appointments, medications, habits and routines, and do short daily check-ins. Over weeks and months, patterns show up: how your sleep, your energy or your symptoms move next to what your markers show.
You stop collecting PDFs you do not understand. You know what each result means for you, what changed since last time, and what to talk to your doctor about next.
There is no official total for a standard check-up, because it depends on what your doctor orders.
Octo Health Complete tests 110+ biomarkers from one blood draw and a urine sample, across 11 health categories: Blood, Brain Health, Gut Health, Heart & Vascular, Hormones, Inflammation, Kidney, Metabolic Health, Nutrients, Stress & Energy, and Toxins. In Portugal, the draw is taken at Germano de Sousa, with 220+ draw locations, and results arrive in up to 7 working days after the draw.
See every marker, one by one, at What we test.
Advanced markers such as ApoB, Lp(a), fasting insulin, sex hormones, cortisol and vitamins are not part of routine check-up guidance in Portugal, though a clinician can order them when there is a reason to. All of them are in the Octo Health Complete panel:
- Heart: ApoB, Lp(a), fibrinogen, homocysteine
- Metabolic: fasting insulin, HOMA-IR, HbA1c
- Hormones and thyroid: total and free testosterone, estradiol, SHBG, FSH, LH, DHEA-S, total cortisol, TSH, free T3, free T4
- Nutrients: vitamin D, B12, folate, ferritin, iron, iron saturation, total iron-binding capacity, magnesium
- Muscle: creatine kinase
Every day you check in, log symptoms and keep up with your routines, so what you feel sits next to what you test. Your Octo Score gives you a single number with the reasons behind it, based on your blood tests from the last 12 months. Ask Octo, a coach that answers from your own record, is coming soon. Additional tests you can add from inside the app are coming soon.
Your doctor, your check-up and urgent care. Octo Health is a wellness tool: it does not diagnose and it does not recommend treatments. Every Baseline and Complete result is reviewed by a laboratory technician before it is released to you. If you feel unwell, call your doctor or emergency services.
If this is you10
Yes, if you want a baseline of your own. Testing while you feel well shows what your normal looks like, so future results have something to be compared with.
For wellness tracking rather than diagnosis, the markers people ask about most at this stage are ApoB and Lp(a) for the heart, HbA1c and fasting insulin, which can move before glucose does, C-reactive protein for inflammation, and vitamin D, ferritin and TSH.
For example: you test in January, upload an old blood test from a previous job, and retest the next January to see which way each marker moved. Talk to your doctor about what your results mean for you.
How your training shows up in your bloodwork, year over year.
For wellness tracking rather than diagnosis, the markers people watch are creatine kinase, which reflects muscle stress, testosterone, SHBG, DHEA-S and cortisol, ferritin, iron and hemoglobin, magnesium and vitamin D, and creatinine and eGFR.
For example: you test in the off-season after skipping the day's hard session, log how you feel through the season, and compare with last year's results next to a year of check-ins. Talk to your doctor about what your results mean for you.
For wellness tracking rather than diagnosis: iron stores, red-cell markers, creatine kinase, cortisol, magnesium, vitamin D, B12 and folate, all of which are in the Complete panel. Ferritin is your body's iron savings account and sits next to hemoglobin and hematocrit. Homocysteine often moves with low B12, B6 or folate.
For example: you test on an easy week before your 16 week block, log energy and sleep as you train, look back at your timeline after the race, and retest before next year's build. Talk to your doctor about what your results mean for you.
Yes, by putting your hormone results, your symptoms and your other markers on one timeline you can bring to your doctor.
For wellness tracking rather than diagnosis, the markers people look at are FSH, LH, estradiol, SHBG and testosterone, your thyroid (TSH, free T3 and free T4), heart markers like ApoB and Lp(a), and HbA1c and fasting insulin.
For example: you log hot flashes, sleep and mood in weekly check-ins, upload older results from your gynecologist, and share the full history before your appointment.
Octo Health does not diagnose menopause and does not recommend hormone therapy. Talk to your doctor about what your results mean for you.
Breadth and a long view: 75+ markers each year with Baseline, or 110+ with Complete, plus your check-up results and your records, on one timeline.
For wellness tracking rather than diagnosis, the markers people ask about are ApoB, Lp(a), C-reactive protein and fibrinogen, kidney markers such as creatinine and eGFR, blood sugar markers, and vitamin D, B12 and folate.
For example: you upload ten years of results from your family doctor, and your new markers sit next to a decade of older cholesterol and creatinine results. Talk to your doctor about what your results mean for you.
It gives you one record of your condition over time, with symptoms, results, medications and appointments together, so you do not have to remember it all. Results from different labs line up on one trend.
For example: you photograph a stack of paper results, log flare-ups and good months in check-ins, share your history with your specialist, and take your record with you when you move. Talk to your doctor about what your results mean for you.
Yes, as a way to see your metabolic, liver, kidney and nutrient markers on one timeline while your body changes.
For wellness tracking rather than diagnosis, the markers people watch include HbA1c, fasting insulin and HOMA-IR, triglycerides, ApoB, liver enzymes (ALT, AST and GGT), creatinine, ferritin, B12, vitamin D and total protein.
Octo Health does not prescribe, adjust or advise on any medication. Your prescriber manages your treatment. Talk to your doctor about what your results mean for you.
With a broad baseline, for wellness tracking rather than diagnosis: one draw with Complete covers iron, B12, folate, vitamin D, thyroid, cortisol and blood sugar markers. A daily check-in on energy and sleep takes seconds, and over weeks it shows a pattern you would never remember on your own.
Take your results and your check-ins to your doctor. Feeling tired all the time is worth a conversation.
For wellness tracking rather than diagnosis, a broad set of heart markers that go beyond a standard cholesterol panel: ApoB, Lp(a), C-reactive protein, fibrinogen, homocysteine, HbA1c, fasting insulin and uric acid. Lp(a) is largely inherited, and a standard cholesterol panel does not capture it.
For example: you see your Lp(a) for the first time, upload years of old cholesterol results, and bring the full picture to your doctor. Talk to your doctor about what your results mean for you.
You do not have to test with us to get value. Core organizes the bloodwork you already have and lines up results from every lab on one trend, with your Octo Score based on the last 12 months.
For wellness tracking rather than diagnosis, Complete adds the markers that are not part of routine check-up guidance: ApoB, Lp(a), fasting insulin, homocysteine, fibrinogen, hormones, cortisol, magnesium, B12 and folate.
Either way, the trend is the thing to take to your doctor.
Reading your results5
In range means your result falls inside the range for the general population. Optimal is the range that fits you, based on your age, your sex and your history rather than averages. Octo Health shows both, because a result can be in range and still be worth a conversation with your doctor.
Yes. Octo Health lines up units and reference ranges across labs, so a ferritin from one lab in 2019 and a ferritin from another lab this year sit on the same line. Your old results count, and your trend starts with your first upload.
Right now, Insights covers a selected set of biomarkers, so some of your results may not appear there yet. We are adding more over time, and your full lab results are always in your records.
A single number for where you stand, always shown with the reasons behind it and the area that deserves your attention. It is a wellness signal, not a diagnosis. You can see yours, and what moved it, in your account.
From the biomarkers in your blood tests from the last 12 months, whether you tested through Octo Health or uploaded the results yourself. Check-ins add context but do not change the number, and you always see what moved it.
Baseline and Complete give you the complete Score, because the yearly panel covers everything it needs. On Core the Score is built from whatever bloodwork you upload, so how complete it is depends on what you put in.
Getting your history in7
Appointments, symptoms, medications, conditions and lab results, plus hospital reports, lab PDFs, imaging reports, prescriptions, discharge summaries and photos of paper. Take a photo of a page, drag in a PDF, or upload a whole folder at once.
Everything lands on one chronological timeline you can search by any word, any year or any doctor, and filter to find what you need in seconds.
Not yet. For now you add your records yourself.
Not yet. Wearable integrations are in build and arrive in an upcoming release.
Keep the symptoms and results that matter for your condition in one view, and log how you feel with short check-ins. You will see how it changes over weeks and months, next to your labs and your appointments, and build a record you can bring to your doctor so you do not have to remember it all.
Yes, it is part of Core. Share your history, your results and how each marker has moved, in order and with dates. Your appointment goes further when the whole picture is already on the table.
iPhone, Android and the web. Download it on the App Store or on Google Play, or open it in your browser.
The app is in English and European Portuguese. You can upload documents in many languages, including English, Portuguese, German, French and Spanish.
Membership and money6
Yes. A monthly membership renews every month and an annual one once a year. Before every annual renewal you get a reminder, and if your price is going to change, we give you at least 30 days notice.
In the app, under Profile, then Billing, or by writing to members@octohealth.com. No phone call needed. You can cancel at any time: canceling stops the next renewal, and your membership keeps running to the end of the period you have already paid for.
As a rule, memberships are not refundable: you pay for each month or year in advance, and canceling stops the next renewal rather than refunding the current one. There are two exceptions, and we want you to know about both.
- If you are in the EU, the UK or the EEA, you have a 14 day right to withdraw after you join. If you asked us to start your membership straight away and then withdraw, you only pay for what you used up to that point.
- If your included lab panel cannot be used, because panels are not available where you live, or for any other reason on our side, we credit or refund its value.
If something has gone wrong, write to members@octohealth.com. The full detail is in our Terms of Service.
Octo Health has no agreement with any insurer or health network, so nothing is covered: you pay for your membership directly to Octo Health S.A.
If your insurance reimburses expenses, you can ask your insurer whether it accepts the Octo Health invoice. The decision is always your insurer's, and we cannot guarantee any reimbursement. Keep in mind that these tests have no prescription, and that in Portugal insurers usually ask for one before they cover lab tests. You can ask for your NIF on the invoice (see "Can I get an invoice with my tax number (NIF)?" below).
No. Octo Health has no agreement with the SNS, ADSE or any other health subsystem, so nothing is covered. You pay for your membership out of pocket.
If your doctor orders tests for you, they follow the usual route, and you can then upload the results to Octo Health, so they sit on the same timeline.
Yes, if you ask. To have your NIF on the Octo Health S.A. invoice, write to members@octohealth.com. The invoice includes VAT at 23%. If you ask for your NIF, the invoice is linked to your NIF in e-fatura. You can ask for your NIF right after you buy, even if the invoice has already been issued.
Your data9
You do, not a device and not a provider. You can export it or delete it whenever you want. That is the whole idea behind Octo Health, not a policy we added later.
